All Hallows Eve

First of all a message to all my  Crafting Friends who have been effected by the horrendous storms in America, I hope you are all safe, I am thinking of you all  during these difficult days.

'All  Hallows Eve', my last opportunity to show you the rest of  the pages from my 6 x 6 inch  Halloween Book.

The stamps used were from Stampers Anonymous, Chocolate Baroque and ones shared from crafting friends.
Distress inks used for colouring were Tea dye, Vintage Photo , Black Soot and Weathered Wood.
Sizzix Alterations Die cuts and a variety of bits and pieces and papers collected over the years, to add a bit of interest.

I have decreased  the size of the photos,  and kept the description to a minimum   to keep the post as short as possible.

Now I forgot I hadn't  posted my 4 x 4 inch Fat Page Calendar page
for October. So this is how it looked..

Thank you for stopping by,
I always appreciate your comments.

Christmas Joy

It is hard to believe that whilst I am writing this post on  Friday evening,  it is snowing and the garden is beginning to look like a winter wonderland.
So I am thinking that a Christmas project for my D.T. piece  over at
Sugar Creek Hollow this week was a  good choice.
Our theme this time is ' Vintage Texting' and we ask that you show us a sentiment and/or other text. Remember that we like to see a Vintage /Shabby Chic style.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

This is a box card that I had fun making recently when I spent a weekend with a fantastic group of Craft Friends. It was wonderful sharing ideas, stamps, learning new techniques and generally having a marvellous time. I have Liz to thank for showing me how to make this shape card.
There is  a variety of  time stamps  round all the edges. The shading is all Vintage Photo and Tea Dye distress inks.
I used Graphics 45 papers for the base layer, adding a fussy cut pieces from another sheet for the next layer.
I loved the sentiment of  'Christmas joy is in my heart', so this was added with the trimmings of lace, pearls  and  die cut snowflake swirls.

I will also be entering the challenge at-
Vintage Illusions  Challenge 12  Add some Lace/Anything Goes

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

Quoth the Raven

.
A new challenge and a DESIGN TEAM call over at Try it on Tuesdays

Exciting news at TioT's we are looking for some new folk to join us on our Design Team. All the details can be found here.

We are celebrating ' Halloween',  as the theme of our new Challenge over at Try It On Tuesdays.
Please pop over to see what we have been making and get all the details.

My contribution is the Front Page of my 6 x 6 Halloween book.
There are still more pages to come before the end of October.

To begin with I stamped up this fantastic Stampendous  Raven stamp, using a black ink pad and black embossing powder.
All the distressing and shading  is Weathered Wood and Black Soot distress inks.
Then the fun bit , after masking off the stamped area I used Mod Roc  to create the textures.
There is no way to describe the mess I got into,  its dusty, chalky,  has to wet to use it.   I think you will get the idea of the resulting mess.
When dry, [ you need to be patient at this stage],  I gave it a few 'gentle' whacks with a small hammer.   It needed a few bumps and bruises , then  painted it over with acrylic paints.
It is finished off with some metal charms, lace and black pearls.

Challenges I will also enter are-
Crafters Cafe  Blog Challenge  Challenge 9 Halloween with Distressing.
Artful Times   Challenge 15 Fur or Feathers
Live and Love Crafts  Challenge 4  Halloween and or Autumn colours.
The Stampman Challenge    October -Butterflies, Birds and Bees

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

The shading and colouring is a mixture of water colour paints, Walnut Stain, Black Soot and  Vintage Photo distress inks.

Christmas Sparkle.

Show some Sparkle in the form of Glitter/Gems is the new challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow.
My take on  this was   to add some Bling to my Vintage/Shabby Chic style card.
Secondly,  I must start thinking  Christmas,  it  will soon be here, so here is me, out of my comfort zone, I don't often make sparkly cards,  adding gems in abundance.
I hope you will pop over and see what we have all been making, it would be lovely to have you joining us this week.

The image  I used is by Bo Bunny,  stamped in green
I used Spellbinders dies for the layering, slightly distressing the edges with Shabby Shutters DI.
Ribbons and a bow made from a length of Seam Binding.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I do appreciate your comments.
Also a big Hello to my new followers, thank you for joining me on my crafty journey.

Colours of Autumn

Colours of Autumn is our new Challenge at Try it on Tuesdays.

We would love you to join us and look forward to visiting your blogs.

I covered the base card with Spiders Web mesh, before adding my layers.
The stamps are from Stampers Anonymous and Sheena Douglas.
I did cut out the leaves after colouring, and covered them, with a little glitter, before layering, I also  added a wooden die cut leaf to the pile. It won't be long before we get some frosty mornings.
The large trees are Sizix die cut pine trees .
For the colouring I used wild honey, shabby shutters and tumbled glass distress inks.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I realy appreciate your comments.
This is my last scheduled post, we will now be wending our way home from caravanland.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Please pop over and see what my Design team sisters have been making. We hope you will join us this time,  but ask you to remember that we like to see stamping on your card or project.
Once again I reached for the Crafty Individuals tree stamp. As you will have noticed I have been using it quite a bit recently.  for me this is a typical Autumn scene. Grey misty mornings when everything is so still and quiet. the shading is all distress inks, walnut stain, vintage photo, tumbled glass and a touch of mustard seed.

As you read this post which is again scheduled  I  will be looking out on on trees just like this . We are staying at Strid Wood Caravan Club site. A real beautiful part of Yorkshire near Bolton Abbey and Skipton.
Thank you for stopping by your comments are always appreciated

Autumn Colours

Autumn Colours/Use Colours of Autumn, is the new Challenge This week at Sugar Creek  Hollow.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making, we would love you to join us this week. Remember we like to see a vintage/shabby chic style to your project/card.

This theme realy had me with my thinking hat on.
Why?  well I am currently away in the caravan and scheduling this post
Staying in a what is usually a beautiful  area in Yorshire. Woodland, rolling hills with remote farms nestling in the folds of the fields.

The weather is currently horrendous, rain, rain and more rain and everything looks dark and dismal , the sky angry, grey and misty.

So what did I have  with me that would suit.
Certainly the leaf stamp from Stampers Anonymous, together with the lace and trimmings box, for finishing off.  The main image is from Stampendous, it is a Christmas stamp, but it so suits the weather we are having.
The colours of the countryside have also changed over the last few days, the fields brown, with the harvest safely gathered in. The leaves now soggy as they lay on the ground, not many remain on the trees.. The colours I used for shading were Vintage photo, weathered wood. lemonade, brick red and dried marigold distress inks.
When I get home I will be making this into a hanging.
Other challenges I will be entering are-
Simon Says Stamp and Show  Leaf-spiration
Moving Along With the Times In the Dark, use dark colours.
Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments and will be getting back to visiting you regularly  again soon.

Indian Summer

Mynnette is our host for our new Challenge 76    at Crafty Cardmakers. The theme is called Indian Summer and she would like to see a scene using natural stamps and the colours, red, yellow and orange,  shown  below.
Please pop over for all the details and see the fantastic examples my team mates have been making.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Downloads, offering a generous store voucher for the winner.

The base card is random stamped, but hard to see on the photo.
For the main scene I used Sheena Douglas stamps, the top layer is stamped onto acetate.
The swirls are Memory box die cuts.
All the colouring is Distress inks, dried marigold, victorian velvet and mustard seed, with the trimmings coming from my stash.
The quote is, 'Fill each Day with Joy'.
Autumn colours in the garden and countyside are wonderful at this time of year,  especially when we get to walk through the woodlands with our Border Collie, Meg.

Thank you for stopping by, I realy appreciate your comments.
