Walking in the Rain

Crafty Card Makers would like to see , Something Rain Related for  this challenge and it must include at least 2 flowers. Please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details
We have two sponsors both offering generous prizes.
 and
Di's Digi Downloads.
Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.
So here is my take on the theme which is 'April Showers bring May Flowers.
I made this 4 x 4 fat page, which is also my monthly swap piece and is now with my friend, who doesn't blog.
The background is random stamped, all colouring and shading is distress inks and watercolours.
The image is from a Mabel Lucy Attwell CD.  I used memory Box die cuts for the poppies and grasses.

It is ages since I joined  a Challenge at Make My Monday this week the theme is Anything but a Card goes, I'm sure this 'fat page' will be okay.

Thank you for stopping by I always appreciate your comments.

April Showers

The  theme of the new Challenge at the Cheerful Stamp Pad is
'April Showers bring May Flowers'.
Our sponsor is Floppy Latte Designs, the little mouse sheltering under the mushroom is one of their  lovely digi images.
Please pop over for all the details and see what the DT have been making.
I am a novice at using digi  images, so I took the image into  my MCS  [My Craft Studio] program and had a good play,  this is the card I ended up making.

The layers were all computer generated . The colouring is a mixture of Pans Pastels and water colours.
The trimmings came from my stash.

Thank you for taking time to stop by, I realy appreciate your comments.

ABC, 123

This weeks Challenge theme over at Sugar Creek Hollow is 'Numbers and Letters'.
We would like you to use both on your project.
Remember our style is Vintage/shabby chic.
Please pop over to get all the details ,see what we have all been making and catch up on the latest new from Sugar Creek Hollow.

My card was made using Graphics 45 papers from the ABC Primer stack.
Simple matting and layering, with  added shading using my favourite Vintage photo distress ink.
I tried to get a marbled look to the   letters and numbers, using Dylusions lime green ink spray and tarnished brass distress stain. It seems to have worked, my hands looked rather colourful afterwards.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

Flying Clocks!

'Steampunk/Inventors/inventions'  is the new challenge at Try it on Tuesdays.
How you interpret the theme is up to you but please pop over to read all the details and rules.
The D. T. have made some fantastic projects to inspire you.

I chose to make a Tag this time, all the stamps are from Chocolate Baroque.
The background was random stamped with cogs and wheels.
I stamped the 'flying clock' onto tissue, before sticking down,  after my first one seemed to blend into the background.
The little wooden additions came from Crafty-emblies.
All the colouring and shading are distress inks, tea dye and vintage photo.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, I always appreciate your comments.

Wild One

Sharing with you another Gothic Cutie I made for The Cheerful Stamp Pad . There is another week to go for this challenge.
I used a Sugar Nellie stamp, water coloured and  fussy cut, then layered onto various papers from a Debbie Moore craft  CD.
She is a wild one who like to have her toys well under control.
That's why the skull is chained to her wrist.

Thank you for stopping by I always appreciate your comments.

Sentimental

'Sentimental'  is the new challenge theme over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  We would like you to use a sentiment  or portray something that makes you feel sentimental.  My D.T. sisters as always have some great examples to share with you.
Please pop over for all the details  and read about the super prize offered by our sponsor.

The sentiment  I used on this card is a Sam Poole Art Phrases stamp, layered up on  die cut Spellbinders shapes.  The stamp on the background layer is an acrylic stamp and I am not sure of the maker.
The shading this time is Pans Pastels , this is not something I use often as yet, but it blends so well, I am sure I will use it more in future.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, i always appreciate your comments.

Starr Timmons.  Please pop over to take a look and get all the details.
Remember our style is vintage/shabby chic.
Once again I have chosen to use Graphics 45 papers.
All the ones I used are from the Litttle Darlings stack, adding a few trimmings from my stash..
I used  Tea dye distress ink for all the shading.

Thank you for stopping by, I realy appreciate your comments.

Watch

The next letter in the Alpha/Dictionary challenge over  at the  Craft Barn is  'W' with the added twist to add circles to the page.
This is one of the rare times I had to start from scratch, so after sticking down my dictionary pages, giving everywhere a coat of gesso, I was ready to go.
I chose the word 'Watch' which does have a few meanings depending how you add and use  it when you are speaking or writing a sentence. .
Nothing like complicating  things, so my interpretations for the word are are -

watch---to look at
watch---a small clock for the wrist or pocket.

I used a dotty mask for the background circles using Pans pastels to shade,  next stamping on  some watches.

The watching eyes and  image are  Dylusions stamps , these were water coloured.
I used a homemade stencil for the larger circles  to put in the die cut letters.
To highlight the dictionary definition I used the eraser end of a pencil  dipped on to an old ink pad.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Lets party

This is my first post for The Cheerful Stamp Pad. This is a secret I have been keeping to myself for a few weeks when out of the blue I was asked to join the D.T. You can guess my answer.
The challenge theme is Gothic Cuties and is sponsored by  Dilly Beans
I have made this small Wall Hanging using a Stampotique image. This 'goth cutie' is dressed to impress and ready to party, she is coloured with water colours.
The arch was die cut before embossing in a brick folder grey card, rubbed over with black soot distress ink.
The background stamps are Stampers anonymous, again I used distress ink to shade.

Thank you for stopping by I always appreciate your comments..

Elizabeth Bennet

This weeks new Challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow  is   'Rubber Stamping'.
We ask you use an actual stamp and not a digi image and remember we like to see a vintage/shabby chic style. . Please pop over for all the details and see what we have all been making.

I used this rubber stamp from Indigo Blu called Elizabeth Bennet, coloured with water colours.
She does look  to me,  like she has just stepped out of a romantic novel .
All the shading on the layers is distress ink, bundled sage.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Tuesday 9 April 2013

Fly Butterfly.

'Spring has Sprung' over at Try it on Tuesdays
This is the theme of our next challenge.
We would like you to make a card/project  that has  something that 'moves' on it.

Please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details.
There is a fabulous monthly prize to be won at the end of the month.

You may have guessed by now that the moving part to this card is the butterfly.
I fixed it onto a piece of folded card, like a concertina  under the butterfly so that it wobbles  and springs up and down.
This was then attached to a  2p piece and inserted into the cut out channel to make a slider.
I must admit this was quite a fiddly job, but it seems to have worked.
All the card stock I used is from Hot off the Press. I  layered up the sentiment with cut outs,  the  slider trim was a border punch. The flowers  etc all came from the same card stock.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

I love my New Dress.

A new challenge for us  begins today over at Fashionable stamping Challenges.
Our new theme is Journaling.
I do hope you will join  us. Please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details and information about our generous sponsor.
.We have a  wonderful Guest Designer  sharing her inspiring work as well.

It is difficult to exactly say how I created the base colours of my pages. Those of you who visit know, I use my journal to mop up colours and clean off stamps making sure every bit of the ink gets used up, blot off masks used for other projects etc.
They could stay this way for weeks until they get used.

This time I picked out one of the not so messy backgrounds to use.
The stamping additions I used for these pages are  Jofy from Paper Artsy and Dylusions.
I used watercolours to colour the added images.
The Stampotique image is called. 'I love my new dress'.
Don't think those boots go with it, but they will keep her feet dry in the grass.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Saturday 6 April 2013

Swirls and twirls.

Our new Challenge  for the coming week over  at Sugar Creek Hollow is 'Fabulous Flourishes'.
Remember we love to see your Vintage/Shabby Chic entries and how you interpret our theme.
Please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the details..
My card base was random  stamped with a swirl stamp,  then dusted with a light covering of  bronze mica powder.  The image and layers are all Graphics 45 papers from the Ladies Diary stack.
I embossed the die cut swirl with Aged Gold Frantage powder.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Faces

The theme for the new challenge over at Out of a hat Creations is Faces.
So after getting rather messy with a few of my recent projects, some still work in progress.
I decided to use up some bits and bobs to make this tag.
I  realy enjoyed delving into my lace box to find some short left over pieces.
The image is a Chapel Road Art stamp, she looks a bit serious and reflective to me.

I would like to say hello and welcome to my new followers and  thank you for joining me on my crafty journey.
Thank you for stopping by to take a look, your comments are always appreciated.

Alpha challenge R for Romantic

Its the letter 'R' and Week 7 of the Alpha Challenge over at The Craft Barn.

The word I chose was 'Romantic'.
Once again the background is a mix of colours and inks, together with  a variety of stencils.
I added some Alterations die cut hearts, the colour is a bit more intense in real life, they were rubbed over in parts with some coloured wax .

The words stamps are from a Stampers Anonymous set.
The old couple seem to  be enjoying a romantic moment  and look very happy being together, probably after a good number of years. This is a stamp from Flonzcraft.
This I shaded with chalk.

Thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments.

Monday 1 April 2013

Challenge 88 over at Crafty Cardmakers is hosted by Suze.
The theme this time is ' Humour ',  today is April  Fools Day a time to have fun and play tricks. We would like you to have some fun making your entry,  use perhaps a funny image or sentiment, make us all smile.

I have made a made this card for a friend, who is reaching a certain age and would rather like to forget it.
The papers are all Graphics 45, I even used part of the pad's front cover for one layer.
The  fun sentiment is from an Indigo Blu set, with a little clip to keep in in place.

Please pop over to see what we have all been making and get all the challenge details.
We have two sponsors,
and
Both offering generous prizes for our winners.
