Celebrate in the snow.

We are having frosty mornings and the weather men are forecasting
that this weekend will bring us another session of snowy weather.

This got me thinking about how my  sons   used to look forward to  the first snow falls,
all those years ago. They couldn't wait for it to be deep enough to make a snowman.
Snow at this time of the year usually meant that Christmas was on its way.
Wool gloves, warm coats and wellie boots   always  in the porch, ready to be pulled on quickly.
The tree would be decorated ,   the Nativity in its special place.
They would visit Santa in   the Church Hall,
when he called  in, close to the big day,   to check they were  behaving nicely.
Magical Celebrations  that last in our memories for ever.

This is  a page for.

where Sheila is hosting this months theme....Lets Celebrate

On the left is some of the stages  of this journal page.
Top left.... It all began with a packet of paper tissues with these nutcracker figures .

Bottom left....... some colouring and stencils added.

Top right..... digital additions
Bottom right...... the words and some sparkles added.

Thank you for calling in today, you are always welcome and your visit appreciated.

Digital information can
be found in my sidebar.

  4. We're suppose to get our first snow tomorrow also. The temperatures are dropping off too. It hasn't felt very much like Christmas but I think, as you said, it will once w get a little wintry weather. Love the images you used on your art today. The nutcrackers are a cool idea and I like how you added all those personal memory images. :) happy Friday-hope all is well. Hugs-Erika

What a beautiful page - you never cease to amaze me with your hybrid pages! You are so good at hybrid!
I love the nutcrackers - maybe I should try to paint one soon. Thank you very much for supporting Sheila's theme with this wonderful entry! Happy weekend and I hope you enjoy the snow when it really comes! Our snow is nearly gone now, but they forecasted new snow for the weekend- I am not so glad - to be honest I don't like snow so much.

  8. I really enjoyed seeing how you put this together (I enlarged it to see details) from the figures on plain white to the marvellous frosty scene. Love the blues and the frosty details in the background and I'm especially taken with the bear holding the heart. We're hoping for snow too and the description of your family winter celebrations sounds lovely.
Thanks for another great Celebratory entry, Yvonne.

  11. We can't BUY moisture here. It passes north and south of us, so I'm so please to see you are in the spirit with your beautiful nutcrackers. I really like how you shared the process in which you made this page and it turned out simply perfect for Sheila's theme at Art Journal Journey. Since I've never had children, I can only guess how lucky you have been to have all these wonderful memories that guided this beautiful journal page today. Thanks for sharing this at Art Journal Journey.

  16. Oh, I love your nutcrackers. I've always found them a little bit scary - those great champing teeth - but they're charming here. And the icy background is lovely.
